H4P Updates

The H4P foster program is underway! Several new fosters have been trained and we have rescued our first pets. Thank you Dr. Don Grubbs of Campbell Park Animal Hospital whose presentation on the behavioral and health aspects of fostering was informative and helpful. If you can foster but missed our first class, please email us and we will get you trained as quickly as possible.

Calling All Volunteers!

Launching our foster program will also create many new volunteer opportunities that will involve rescuing the animals, getting them vetted and getting them adopted. To find out more about volunteer opportunities, please download, complete and return the volunteer application indicating your areas of interest. As soon as we receive your application, someone will be in touch with you shortly.

No Time or Room To Foster, But Want to Save Animals?

If you are not able to foster, you can still help rescued animals by donating toward our boarding costs. Campbell Park Animal Hospital will dedicate kennels to H4P at $320 per month per kennel. This includes all supervised care and daily walks while rescued pets are getting vetted.

H4P’s foster parents will receive a fully vetted pet and will not have to transport for spay/neuter or vaccination appointments. The kennels give us flexibility when rescuing and will help us save more animals by providing a safe place for them to stay while we line up a foster home. Please indicate on your donation that you want to contribute toward boarding so that we can direct your donation as you wish.

Property Update

We sincerely appreciate your December donations after news that we found property, which will serve all of our needs for a shelter. We still have a way to go, but each and every donation gets us one paw closer to acquiring the property and we hope you will inspire others to help us, too.

MacFarlane Foundation Donates $30,000!

Just after locating this property, we were blessed to receive a generous donation of $30,000 by the MacFarlane Foundation. The MacFarlane family wanted to help Habitat 4 Paws with funding to acquire property for a much needed animal shelter. We deeply appreciate their donation and our most sincere thanks go to the MacFarlane Foundation and family for such a wonderful gift!

Charity of the Year

DAWG selected Habitat 4 Paws as its charity of the year and invited us to help at their March AKC agility competition. H4P volunteers will help staff the event and earn donations for our group. The trials are March 9, 10 and 11 at Myers Park in western McKinney. Come on out to see these incredible dogs in action!

H4P will team up with DAWG throughout the year to help with each other’s fund raising efforts and will receive a donation from these efforts later this year. Thank you President Mark Shaw and DAWG for this wonderful opportunity.
